There was a full house at the First United Methodist Church on April 24, 2025 as the Glynn Dems kicked off the 2025 Democratic Women’s Luncheon season.

A Moveable Feast catered with box lunches of Chicken Salad or a Goat Cheese Salad Option. There were plenty of volunteers on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly.



Marie Brewer gave a presentation on the Freedom Quilt (in background) which she had stitched. It represents safe houses and travel for enslaved people who were runaways.
A raffle , for the quilt, is being held in which the proceeds will be split between the WVOG and an African American historical non-profit that will be chosen by the WVOG.

Author Jim Barger, Jr. , the featured speaker, shared anecdotes from his book “Jimmy Carter: River and Dreams“, which chronicled the half century experiences of Dr. Carlton Hicks as he fly fished around the world with Jimmy Carter, both before and after he was president.
